The company that built this used to be the one standing in the gymnasium
Middle School Gallery is built and operated by Stanley Studios, which ran the studio side of school photography before it wrote software for it — booking sittings, sending crews into several buildings in a week, and working against rosters full of children whose details were not ours to be casual with.
Why this band has its own address
Because it is the only one where the rule splits a roster, and because a page written for an elementary front office would have to be wrong about that in order to stay simple.
There is a second reason and it is about the people doing the work. In a middle school the yearbook is usually a graded elective rather than a club, so the adviser is a classroom teacher with a curriculum to deliver and a gradebook to keep, and the editors are twelve and thirteen. The design question is not the one a high school poses. It is: can a child operate this, on a Tuesday, in a forty-minute period, in a system whose job is partly to gate children?
We would rather answer that question on its own site than bury it in a paragraph on somebody else’s.
The plain inventory
Software marketing describes planned work in the present tense and lets the reader sort it out. This is the whole picture, and every other page here agrees with it.

No adoption figures, no school names, no testimonials. A product at this stage that displays those has usually manufactured them.
What we will not do
We will not tell you which students were held. Not in a public view, not in an export dressed as transparency, not as a convenience for a communications office. The count is the answer.
We will not build an override on the age floor. Not for a school, not for a family who asks, not for a good cause with a deadline.
We will not sell your photographs or hand them to anybody as material to train something on. They stay in the school’s own area and they leave with you.
We will not claim the part we have not proved. The face-template destruction chain is not demonstrated end to end and it says so on the line page, in the same type as everything else.
Questions about us rather than the product
Is this a separate product we buy on its own?
No. It is one part of a platform a school runs on, given its own front door because this band has a problem no other band has. The platform is at homeroom.software.
Why is there a separate site for high school?
Because above this band the age floor stops being the interesting question and the family's own permission becomes the whole story, and because a high school's staff include students old enough to hold real responsibility. Different problem, different site: highschool.gallery.
What does it cost a school?
The platform is free to the school. There is no per-student fee and no seat licence. The intended income is a family store, which is early access with live payment not turned on, so today the business model is described rather than running.
Can our students really be trusted to run this?
That is your call rather than ours, and the system is built so that the answer does not have to be a leap of faith: a student editor cannot hand pictures to anybody outside the school regardless of what else their role allows, because that check runs first. What they can do is compose, and what they can compose from is already only what may be used.
Who reads it when we get in touch?
